Hi ,
I have noticed a drip coming from the two pipes which connect to the right side of fuel tank and come out lowdown on the left side of engine above bike stand. Does anybody know what causes this?
Thanks.

If it is coming out of one of the breather tubes connected near the top of the fuel tank then overfilling will cause to flow out.

Not down to overfilling. It’s strange as it’s occurred whilst the bike has been laid up in garage over the last two months. Tank is two thirds full. I’ll take a photo and post which might help.

Yes, I’ve done that . There is no sign of leaking where the pipes connect to tank. It is just one pipe that is dripping. It is not excessive but would like to understand why.

One comes from the filler cap. So if fuel splashed/dribbled when filling it will drip out.. this can sometimes take a while if shite has got past the filler cap with water when it rains, as it blocks the pipe

Ok. The two pipes come from the plastic flange on the tight side of tank. I have seen a suggestion that these are vent pipes but they are both connected to this tank flange. Are you saying that one goes up inside the tank to the filler cap flange?
Thanks for your reply’s.

Yes, they both do… the 1150 has the same two pipes that go through the tank to the filler cap. One is for fuel overflow, the other for water to drain that leaks past the filler cap.

Thanks again for your replies. That probably makes a lot of sense. I’ll keep an eye on it going forward and will take care on filling tank. I don’t usually spill fuel when filling with price of petrol !!

Have you pulled the two pipes off just to check the flange is ok.
I would suggest cutting a cm or so off them then pushing them back on. They may be perished a little so getting loose on the fitting so maybe leaking a little.
Plus you could blow down them to check they are clear.

I will check before I put the side panels back on bike. Thanks for the suggestion.
