Fully Synth 10/50 OIL...2010 GSA & Fuel Comsumption

Just checked my oil after a TOP blast round the twistys in the mountains all over the Beacons Nat Park, 1750 miles in 7 weeks....the level has dropped about 2mm from top of glass.......Ran the bike in as manual said...fairly hard.....as in.....http://mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

It used over .35 Ltr mineral oil in the first 600 miles, now 1150 miles later on Castrol Fully Synth 10/50 hardly a drop....'caus it's been run in correctly' and today I got 53 mpg over 280 miles, the best yet...not hanging about and keeping mostly to the limits, "thanks to Bikesafe"

Alleluia, +1 Checked mine @ 200 miles and it was just under 3/4 up the glass.
Didn't use perceptably more up to 1st service @ 670. (maybe 150 ml used?)

Now with the 10 - 50 Syn and 1540 miles on the clock the level has not moved from the thin red line at the top of the oil inspection window.

I have to say, revving it in very short stages, to the BMW owners manual was the hardest I've ever had to run a brand new bike in.
They know their onions

....... Ah, i'm only teasing, mine weren't done on sundays - any fool can do lots of miles in a weeks holiday! Great bike though, I'm really enjoying it too.
