Further KTM Woes

That seems really significant, KTM and Sweetlamb have been a great match. I can only assume it's budget cuts from the mothership given the worsening financial position of KTM, but that does the brand a lot of damage in the UK at least. I'd love to know the financial position of all the adventure centres but they must be run at a loss given the turnover of bikes every 1 or 2 years.

I'm loving the rumoured 390 Enduro R, but how stable is KTM ? I assume KTM's ownership is very likely to change in the near future.

Is it still the case that to be a KTM dealer you have ro sell a range of their bikes and not just off-road bikes? There was a very well respected off-road dealer near us who binned them after they told him he had to sell a certain amount of road bikes (adventures etc) alongside the dirt bikes. That was a few years ago but it seemed pretty short sighted at the time.

Imagine... Corporates ('Suits'!) within a noted and respected brand, being "short-sighted" about their customer base and loyalty.....

I can think of a home-grown airline that fits that category, as just one example of companies who have trodden that path....

Indeed
They sacked 3-4 top KTM off-road dealers and ones that had been loyal to KTM for 30 years
Gave it to the road bike KTM dealer and guess what it’s a flop

Doh! I knew Eurotek binned them a while ago.
I was talking to the owner of Nomadic Off road when we were in Mongolia last year and he said KTM were terrible to deal with hence them switching to Husqvarna. He said KTM were almost obstructive where Husqvarna couldn't do enough to support them.
Tragic really.

Aren’t KTM and Husqvarna on the same side ?

Eurotek have moved on with Sherco and still carry GasGas and are connected as the Sherco UK Importers now
I was in yesterday and they are v busy

Yes but from what nomadics owner was saying, they are two seperate brands with different reps. He said they were very different to deal with.
