Looks like BMW let the current since 2013 generation GS run 2 more years and replace it in the end of 2022 with a all new 2023 R1300GS for the 100th anniversary of BMW Motorrad...:thumby:
Less weight due to more lighter and cheaper to produce cast frame pieces are a given as also more power...How much is pure speculation but looking at KTM's 1290 and soon Ducati's 1100 V-4 in the Multistrada 150 hp will be the bare minimum and 160hp/155nm more likely...:thumby:
Hopefully also an underseat exhaust for 2 same sized bags as also a 24 liter tank for the regular as a 34 liter tank for the GSA in order to take advantage of the power without having to stop for fuel every 2 hours or so...
As for the engine if all new with a center-bearing in order to take 10000 rpm max or a evolution of the current then 10 year old LC mill only the boys in Munich/Berlin will know...
Seeing the new EU-5 versions of the 1250 GS I hope someone makes a dyno comparison as also roll-on comparison between the 2019/20 EU-4 and 2021 EU-5 versions to see if it had any negative impact like switching from EU-3 to EU-4 had for the 1200 GS in 2017 !?
My plan is to ride my current 2019 1250GS-HP for 2 more years and then depending if the new one is all new or just a evolution of the former generation to get one of the last 1250 ADV (because I do like the 100 extra miles in the tank ) in T-B or Rallye white (they do look good) and wait 2-3 years to get the bugs worked out of the then all new GS....;)
Unless the M1300GS or R1300XR however they will call it makes me so horny that I can't resist and violate my own code and become an early adopter in spring 2023...:D

Amazing dream, and you can see far, most go week by week now.

Bollocks, there is already a 150bhp + bike... the XR. Why you need 150bhp in a GS? Less weight yes. But than you add 3 alu panniers and a load of shit from Wunderbollocks and you achieve the square of fuckall:rolleyes:
Some cvnt wanted an electric windscreen on the GS:blast
Enjoy what you have now.

Is this a regurgitation of your oft repeated (adnauseam) wet dream, or are you quoting someone who knows something? If the latter, source please, if the former, as an experiment, try to post ten consecutive posts without mentioning your made up designation of M1300GS/150hp/17”wheels. I don’t think BMW are listening to you.

BMW is listening...otherwise why have they trade-marked M 1300 GS ? A lighter GS with 150-180 hp and even more TORQUE would be even more fun than the current 1250 already is !
And it's coming because all KTM and Ducati has on the current 1250 is more top-end hp as an argument to buy one because top-end rush is fun...:thumb2
The XR is a great bike but not a replacement for a GS...No low or mid-range torque and still not too exciting on top if you have experienced a S1000RR...Forks and chain are always two steps behind the GS.
And the R1250R is missing the T-L and lots of ground clearance / lean angle to play the role of the sportier/more road oriented GS with 17" sports-rubber...If you have experienced T-L you can never go back to forks...except on a full on dirt or track bike.
Hopefully the 2 years until the all new GS / boxer generation go by fast...;)
Because we all get older and need stronger drugs...:D
A cruiser like a R18 is definitely not in my future...ever...:( Boring as f@ck ! A bike for owners/collectors/polishers but definitely not riders...what a waste like the origionals from Milwaukee...boat-anchors and noise makers not to mentions the clowns who ride them...Embarrassing for BMW to fish in these stale waters !
But as long as the have bikes like a M1000SS or soon M1300GS I will forgive them for their sins...:D

XRvibe Dildo in line 4 bollox ..the GS with 150 ...bring it on ...but dont loose the torque :thumb:green gri:beerjug: with you on the screen bit tho

Bloody hell! talk about irony bypass:blast I like reading your breathlessly written exhortations to all and sundry to emulate your 140mph, fully panniered, 10,000 per tyre (note the spelling) blasts through Mexico. It just gets a little repetitive and tedious to hear the same plaintive refrain about M1300... well you know.
There used to be a bloke posting on and on about how he thought every bike should have a sidestand on either side of the bike and a dipstick for checking oil and why aren’t fuel injected two stroke snow mobile engines used in motorbikes. He also had theories about nuclear reactors that were trotted out at every opportunity.
Tedious as a tedious thing on a tedious day in a tedious town.
Regale us at will about Mexico - how about some pictures of your trip which if they’re anything like mine will have some scenic view ruined by having a motorbike slap bang in the middle of the shot, or a map showing your route? Or even, a favourite on this site, pictures of your locally bought Mexican dinner? :D

I see where you are going.....

BMW HP2 Enduro or a Megamoto with the 1250 engine...25kg lighter. Would be nice...

Bollocks.

I owned a telelever (T-L in your weird speak) for a decade. I currently own a 2016 S1000XR and a 2016 R1200RS. I have ridden every iteration of the GS. There is no way I will go back to a telelever bike. The front end of a GS seems so remote compared to my bikes.

If someone rides on a road only, then they should dismiss the GS and choose between the RS and XR, depending on which riding position suits best. Ideally, do like me, own both.

Blimey quite different for me after owing super bikes , street bikes and a Multi Strada with the Semi active , that non of them felt as good as the GS does now with the demands I ask of it . Okay the track bikes were great , but only on the track . The super bikes on the road were a bit on off dependant where you rode . The Multi was good but not all the time , the suspension still had that see saw effect ( track bikes didn’t as you could dial it out ) The Gs T L front deals with everything you thro at it and keeps the bike poised and stable even if you need to make changes mid corner as the dive is minimal . I ride the GS road only and for me it’s the best by far . I rode the XR , nice but ... the R S felt a bit bland and did not like the way the front felt but to be fair I only had it for a day and was quite glad to give it back . The XR I had for a while and found it a nice bike but again more suited for main roads and for me that’s not what I want .
Any bike is good just depends what you want from it . Apart from ZZR s as those I hate ... but that’s another story

Sorry but I don't have the patience or time to take pictures...back in the days of 35mm film I used to take pictures but today all digital you take them and never look at them again !
As for Tele-Lever being remote or short on feed-back , nothing could be further from the truth ! If someone needs fork-dive to know how hard to brake maybe motorcycling is not the right hobby or mode of transportation...Nothing beats Tele-Lever when it comes to resisting fork-dive and keeping the front planted.Tele-Lever works 10-times better than any Ohlins fork which I had on my R Nine T !!! I don't understand why BMW went backwards and put old-tech forks on the R and RS...:( As for forks on the race track and off-road they still have their use because Tele-lever due to geometry can't take the long spring travel needed in Moto-X or in MotoGP/WSBK where hard trail-braking brings shorter trail for easier turn in...But this are the only advantages for the fork which are nil for road-riding...As for the XR the forks have 150 mm spring travel and thus are not as bad as conventional 125mm forks that will bottom out braking hard and then one more bump and the front wheel looses traction...causing decrease in comfort, longer braking distances or running wide in turns.Forks suck...:D

Zoltan I agree - 25 Kg would be nice !
Also a HP2 Enduro for people who want a dirt-bike with boxer engine as also a Supermoto on that base.
But a real GS with Telelever, useable tankrange and a full on street version on that base with 17" wheels would sell much better ! And 150hp is the bare minimum for a future GS...Even an XR does not feel fast if you have ridden a S1000RR with 200 or so hp at the wheel...But I would agree this is fast enough to feel exiting and not get boring for years to come...:thumb2
