Just done g/box so decided to put a new rubber gaitor on. Got one from Motorworks but cant stop it leaking from rear conection to s/arm,tried silicon but gaitor very stiff rubber not as original. Got another from Sherlocks but same stiff rubber and same problem! Look like putting old original one on.Are these new ones after market rubbish ,as old original is softer rubber.Anyone else had this problem ? Have checked d/shaft housing for fault.

Probably cheaper to buy originals as well. To be honest this is becoming an increasing problem with some of the non standard shite sold by Motorworks, unfortunately some of the stuff they're selling isn't identified as pattern parts. You only find out once a parts failed or f*cked up. The best option is straight from the BMW dealer.

Took it for granted it would be OE,would not have bought it else! Suprised they sell crap like that knowing the work /problems they cause, putting old/original genuine one back on,different /softer rubber.

BMW Australia doesn't do spare parts for Airheads, so we don't have that choice, but so far Sherlocks have been the best of the big three for supplying genuine, good quality parts.
