Hi chaps,
I was literally just about to pull the trigger on a new PD tank from Boxerparts.de for my G/S as my missis has recently given me "permission" to spend a little bit of (my) cash on the bike. I currently am running a scruffy HPN 40 litre jobbie at the moment FYI.
I was just doing some last minute reading up on them when I saw a post on advrider which stopped me dead, namely a comparison between the HPN tank and the PD tank, saying that the HPN was real world fine, wont rust , carries weight low and was comfortable et c etc and therefore the preferred choice of the two, with the main problem with the PD tank being that taller riders may have clearance issue with knees in the tank recesses.
Now, I am a tall rider, exactly 6 foot with a 33 inside leg and "fit" was something I had never even considered. And I dont need to feel more cramped on my cramped G/S which as fellow G/S 'rs will know is a little ergonomically challenged already....
Anyone here have any experience/thoughts as to whether this is really an issue? Am i destined not to have a PD tank on my bike as the finishing touch? I may need a hug if so as a proper PD was always has been a grail bike of mine.
