Got a letter from the stealers, which is for a recall on a "design optimisation" of the threaded fastener of the starter freewheel. It goes on to say that if the fastener were to come lose, the motorcycle would experience power supply problems (I presume that means electrical power).

The letter states that the recall work will take about an hour to complete and will be free of charge.

They also want the original maintenance CD back and will replace it with an updated version.

is this not the fix to stop the bolts coming loose and wrecking the inside of the engine? there were a few cases of this on 09 models i think

i think its just a case of adding loctite to the bolts.

After giving a call tot my dealer, they said indeed there is a recall, but BMW netherlands did never notefy the dealer of it....

The updated repar CD is from 10/2009.........
