Hi all, Coming off a RMZ450 which was very very good, im now on a BMW G450 which im struggling to get to terms with, i have fitted the acro silencer and full power plug. Happy with the power (a lot smooter than the rmz) but the handling is not good (front end is washing out) and feels very unstable. Havent touched the settings yet, just wondering what everyone elses experience has been, what will make a difference (with-out spending on new springs etc.) What handlebar settings etc. any help appreciated.

jol,
I followed the settings in the link above from Dave. These settings made a huge difference to the bike. The front end kept tracking out of ruts and was far to skitish. After the settings were changed it was fine and very controllable.I also moved the bars forward to the middle setting, this moved my body weight forward and helped keep the front end down.Good luck and enjoy !!

Thanks for the help, :thumb2 , will get on it the weekend and, fingers crossed it will make a difference.

On another note, is anyone interested in a radguard (i think they are a bit vunrable) ive had this from www.radguard.com.au

Hi Jamie.
Thank you for your inquiry and sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
The BMW G450X Rad Guard would cost you approx 99.94 GBP at the current
exchange rate.
We can't do anything on that price for single Guard orders because we
already subsidise the Air Freight fee quiet substantially.
However, if you ordered 3 Guards (they don’t have to be the same guards), we
can send them out freight FREE. Approx 265.75 GBP (88.59 GBP each) or if you
wanted to order 6 Guards, we would give you one FREE and Free Air Freight.

I have attached a couple of 450 pics.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards.
Paul.

BMW G450x Set Up

Just set the suspension as suggested below. Major difference in the front, now much softer and far better for enduro, especially the rocky tracks.

Rear seems to have lost a little traction but that could just be the way I was riding it.

Thanks for the advice

ps. How is important is correct 'pre load' sag ? Mine was 20mm out i.e. 60mm ?
