A warning to anyone who owns a late model G650GS that you may have a gearbox output shaft oil leak. I have owned 2 of these bikes in the last year and the seal leaked on both of them. As the leak is fairly small its possible you may think the oil around the gearbox is from an over oiled chain but it’s worth further investigation as the only cure is a gearbox strip and new mainshaft and bearings, an expensive job if the bike is not under warranty. In my case I rejected both bikes rather than ride a repaired machine. BMW denied they had a problem on any other bikes, has anyone else out there experienced this leak?
