Hi all, im after some advice please. I recently bought a 2610 + TT mount from an estemmed member of this parish. He had it mounted on a yamaha, i want to mount it on a 1200gs. My bike has a crossbar above the clocks, im not sure if this is a std fit or was added later but it looks genuine bmw. diameter of this crossbar is around 16mm, the TT U brackets look around 12/13mm so mounting it on the crossbar was impossible without longer bolts. Searching through the site i found this:

post number 7.

The brackets mentioned enabled me to mount the TT mount but it sits so high on the crossbar that i have to move the screen to its highest setting, too high to see over. If the crossbar were tilted back and inch or two there would be lots or clearance between the mount and the screen but i would want to trash the crossbar trying to bend it.

I'd still like to mount the 2610 over the clocks just below my eyeline, has anyone mounted it here sucessfully please. Any advice that isnt going to cost another 50 odd quid would be gratefully received. Cheers all.

Thanks for the replies fellas. It would appear that i already have a bar above the clocks like the garmin one. However, when the TT mount is sat on that bar, the height of it means the screen needs to be at its highest setting. The RAM mount looks ok as it looks like there is enough articulation in the mount to bring it away from the screen and still have the diamond bracket in a horizontal plave for mouning the TT bracket.
