Apologies for being a bit dim, but could a Garmin 2610 run on a 6v bike (MZ TS250)..?

If not, what would you do..? (I can't afford the 12v conversion kit, it's well over £200).

I would have thought the only way will be be to make up a 6v to 12v dc converter, possibly somthing like the link below might be the way to go.
Only other advice would be have a look at vw car sites as the early cars were all 6v you may find somthing that you can use.

just buy a very small 12v battery from Maplin and connect to that. Yes you will have to charge it up via the mains, but plenty of juice in them to last a day between charges

You don't need a GPS, just head East

There are some very big signs, denoting BERLIN

You are both of course completely right! :D

I'd really come to that conclusion, but the question was still nagging at me...

And in the spirit of 1975 style utilitarianism, it'll be a 'No Sat Nav Zone' :thumb2
