Gaz, I have just been lucky enough to get the Zumo 590LM for Christmas to upgrade my Zumo 550. Good question, I haven't found the lock screen yet either. However it would seem sensible that it's in settings somewhere. I'll keep my eyes on this thread to see if someone out there knows the answer.

Did you find that the power cable / accessory leads seem to be far too long? I was thinking of soldering a BMW plug on and plugging into the loom where the 550 plugged in, but if I do I don't think I will be able to use the accessory leads. Garmin seem to want you to plug straight into the battery, but I would prefer the unit turning on with the key.

Hi Shredder
thanks for the reply
the 590 isnt mine - it belongs to my mate - i still have my 550
he isnt used to searching for fixes
i have been all over the menu options and i cant find it any where which i think is really weird
Its odd cos if someone knicked it they could use it straight away
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thank you :beerjug:

The leads incorporate a connection for a Ipod/Phone. I ran mine to under the passengers seat on my LC GS. Perfect place for the IPod.

I can also charge my phone from the usb....... Which is handy.

Just phoned Garmin and got the answer that new Garmins including the Zumo 590 have not got a pin code option. Apparently various numpties were setting pin codes and then forgot them. The only fix for this is to send the unit back to Garmin to get it unlocked at a cost of £30. Garmin have hence stopped giving people the pin code option.
