If I fit the Garmin 660 to an LC RT, is it possible to listen to voice commands/music without having bluetooth earphones ? on my current RT with the 660 in it's cradle I have the option of using the cradle leads or plugging into the side of the 660.

I don't think you can plug any cables into the 660 fitted in the RT LC recessed location.
The GPS will fit snugly into the aperture with no gap for other cables.

Safe riding,
Mike

Yep, quite right. Blue tooth or nothing, the BMW Navigator 5 May run through the radio but I have a 660.

I LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT SO TO SPEAK.
However do you put it in your jacket pocket and does it have a 3.5mm jack socket for ear buds.
Also is it reliable or does it drop out of connection

Put it where you like, has a spring clip on the back and oled display. It runs 3.5mm jack and is full stereo sound. Drop out ? as it's FM radio supposedly RDS it does drop the station, but I live in the Highlands where nothing is guaranteed.

My understanding was that the nav 5 was bluetooth only through the nav 5 cradle. If that is the case, I'd be surprised if they haven't done the same with the 1200RT system. Have you searched for a bluetooth connection on the bike?

Is there an AUX circuit on the bike, if there is you might be able to wire up a bluetooth receiver and plug it into the AUX circuit :nenau

Just got the Sony Bluetooth receiver and it paired to my Garmin 660.
This is a great device and all I need to do now is find a loud sounding set of helmet speakers.
Anyone got any advice on a loud set ?
