i was looking to get a Garmin 276c in time for my friend and I's morocco trip next year, but i've just found out how much the data cards for them cost.

i certainly won't be getting one now, i don't care how good it is. £150 for a 512Mb card when you can get a standard 2Gb SD card fro £15-20. how on earth do Garmin justify charging that much for a bit of memory?

the 276c is usually used as a marine plotter, why not buy a bike unit like a zumo for instance?

that comes with mapping as well, i don't think the 276 does, so that's another big chunk to pay out.

i bought mine from somebody in the states via ebay, much much cheaper

Garmin memory was always expensive but it was made in the days when memory was a lot of money anyway.

Remember the days when PC memory was £50 for 1MB (that's MB not GB)
