Hi, i have just aquired a zumo 400 which has uk and ireland 2009 installed, does anyone know where i can get the full europe map on sd card, as you are probably aware the 400 will not hold all of Europe directly as the memory is to small, so i want to install it on a 2 or 4gb sd card, as cheaply as possible.
Thanks in advance guys

To buy legitimate licenced mapping you will probably be best served by buying a DVD to start with, this will get you the current mapping and facilitate loading it onto your PC as well as your GPS. Then in a year or two (earlier if you like) you'll need to buy a lifetime update package. Unfortunately I don't think you can upgrade from the mapping you have already to a full European lifetime subscription. Might be worth calling Garmin and asking though as it would save quite a bit in the long run if you went for a lifetime subscription (Garmin NuMaps Lifetime).

From Garmin the DVD for City Navigator Europe is about £76 and then the lifetime upgrade package is normally another £75, currently they're running a promotion for £60 though.

However, buying the same from a 3rd party supplier such as Handtec will cost quite a bit less, the mapping here shows as 2010 but worth giving them a ring as they should be supplying 2012 disks now. The lifetime updates from them are £52.50.

Of course you could just buy the SD card with City Nav pre-installed but you'll have problems getting that onto your PC for route planning which is one of the major advantages of the Garmin Zumos.

BTW, the Lifetime subscriptions are for the life of the GPS, not your lifetime. Loose it, break it or have it stolen and it ends and you have to buy another sub.
