when using my quest for a work trip, i accidentally dropped it out of the car onto concrete, resulting in a cracked case, a scratched screen and a broken antenna pivot..... rang GPSW where I got it from... and the helpfull chap gave me details of garmin and said to send it to them...... I called garmin up and enquired and apparently a new case was around £23 plus fitting etc, so I sent it off registered post about ten days ago, with the receipt and an accompanying letter detailing the fault(s), as requested. I got a call today saying it was in the post, all sorted and I should get it tomorrow, I was somewhat surprised at having not been asked to pay, and enquired how much? FREE OF CHARGE the technician said ............... now there is service for you :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

top effort

NB: this post subject to retraction/update should the quest not turn up tomorrow, or not be suitably fixed:eek:

Yup ditto that. I had some problems with my 60c so I banged it in the post to the Garmin boys and gilrs and got a no quibble replacement within the week. Top service :thumb

Brand spanking new quest arrived as promised.........well done garmin!

Yes Gecks, but did ya get a 60 or a Quest back?????

I got a new 60c but I'm more than happy with that. The Quest would have meant new Ram mounts and I'd have to listen to that inane american woman's voice gabbering away in my ear :P Long live the 60C

My Quest had been losing satellite reception ever more frequently, so I hopped on the bike and rode down to Garmin in Romsey this morning, which was a bit hit and miss given the intermittent satellite reception. Handed over the unit to a techie who said he'd look at it and be back in 5 minutes. He returned after a few minutes to let me know that they were loading some maps onto a brand spanking new replacement unit for me. Top result, especially since the new quest comes with 12 months warranty from today’s date and two new unlock codes for the v7 maps.

I also asked about getting a replacement screw for the locking mechanism on a 2610 motorcycle mount belonging to one of my friends. I showed the tech a photo of the mount, highlighting which screw was missing and he returns in 30 seconds with the whole mounting plate, which he then hands over to me, free and gratis!

Top service from Garmin. Long may they trade and prosper.

Top Service

Top Service always,

Aways happy to help.

Shame, that there are not more companies like them.

2610, Excellent, I'm as blind as a bat, so the bigger screen is of a great help!!!

What speed limit:D :D :D :D :D :D

I wonder if someone from Garmin pops along here from time to time??

It's a shame if they don't know that they've got about the best reputation for service out of any kit we buy.....

I can feel an email coming on.......

:)

Hear hear!

Dropped my 5 month old 2610 onto concrete last Wed, it would no longer power up

Phoned Garmin, explained and got a RMA number to send it back.

Delivered today a brand new unit complete with all accessories (power supplies, bean bag mount etc etc) free under warranty :)

Excellent service, wish it was always so easy.

Andy.

Likewise, I got excellent service from them when I bought a second hand BMW Navigator 2 and enquired about software and registration. They sorted me out with City Nav V6 so I can plan routes on the PC and upload them to GPS. All I need to do now is work out how to work it all.

Garmin gear is the market leader for good reason. Like a BMW, it ain't cheap but you get what you pay for.

Like you Pukmiester I bought a second hand unit which was missing all sorts of stuff. It had version 2.9 installed and didn't have instructions. I popped a call into Garmin on Thursday afternoon and on Friday morning recieved what I needed - And free of charge.

This is top service !!
