I am thinking of buying a Garmin GPS MAP76S. Does anyone have one, and if so what do you think of it?

Maybe................... I'm also looking at a more expensive StreetPilot III, but i would need to find the extra cah.

The GPSmap 76S is waterproof and floats.
It has a monochrome screen and 24 MB of internal memory for loading maps.
It does not perform auto-routing.
I think I would be looking for a unit with more mapping memory.

cant commet about the mapping bit, but I have used a 76 without mapping for boatwork and found it excellent. good battery life with rechargables, and sensitive enough to get a position fix inside a building.
