Garmin + Mac

Anybody (Pan European??) got any idea when the Mac versions of Garmin software is likely to become available?

I've spent hours grappling with a friend's PC ('cause I'm a Mac user) to programme my new SPIII only to find (eventually) that the USB ports aren't compatible with the USB card programmer!! Jeez which bit of 'universal' in Universal Serial Bus don't PC companies/Garmin understand??? And it's not even like it's joe blogs home build PC, this is a Toshiba laptop.

Sorry, rant over. I'm just used to Macs where you plug things in and they work - except Garmins of course.

The only information I have about Apple computers and Garmin software is what is published by Garmin in this statement: Garmin Announces GPS Product Support for Mac OS X.
