Hi all,
Having recently purchased a Zumo 660 :D and loaded said software, everything appeared to be skiping along nicely until I tried to download the Garmin POI loader program.
I am trying to install the program to my MS Vista Home Premium running laptop. The file does not extract correctly and although the installation screens appear when you finally click finish and check the launch box for the poi loader nothing happens. When I interogate the garmin file that is created in the computers C: drive, program files, there is no sub files or data. Thus the program does not appear to have extracted correctly.
I have tried turning off my firewall and anti-virus and checked the security settings by right clicking on the downloaded file before extraction. I have also tried extracting the file in XP compatability mode and none of the above has worked. Tried googling the problem but really struggling. Emailed Garmin but no response as yet.
Anybody come across this already that could please help?

Thanks Dick'o

I also run Vista Home Premium, with ZoneAlarm Free and AVG. I downloaded POILoader without problems. The latest version is dated 22/08/2008, which is the version I have. I'd suggest telephoning Garmin rather than e-mailing. Is your version of Vista fully up to date (mine was on SP1 when I installed POILoader but SP2 is now available).

Thanks Bear, I suspect that it is something specific on my PC since as you rightly point out the current software version is well established. I have emailed Garmin but i think I will ring them direct.
Cheers
