Is it just my Quest 1 or do all the ciggy lighter speakers sound like an American woman thats been chewing gravel......!!..... and do they all keep saying " ARF ROWT RE CALKULADIN ".... Need I say more ?? my old GPS sounded much better and only gave trouble when the battery went flat if not used !
..............Mike :(

Hey Mike..... check out the instruction manual you got with it as it should tell you how to change the language used. Opt for English/English rather than American/English, if you know what I mean ;)

Look on the Garmin website for an audio update - improves things considerably, although it has to be said that the speaker is pretty naff

Yes, I think that is what your problem is - you have a very early release of the voice file. Use the Garmin 'Web Updater' application to automatically download the latest software and the latest voice files for your GPSR - that is by far the easiest way to go about it.

If you can hinge the lollipop enclosure down into contact with some part of the car's fascia and "anchor" it there with a large dab of bluetack this will damp out some of the resonance from the cheap and tinny speaker that Garmin use

Thanks for the info Guys......... I'll try all the suggestions but will chat to Garmin about why it keeps going " off route....recalculating " as much as every few mins.
Cheers....Mike. :beerjug:
