I have just picked up a used but very clean Zumo 660 and want to register it with Garmin (UK) to download a newer software upgrade (mine is currently showing vs 3.90). But here is the problem.
I plug in the unit with the supplied USB cable and the computer shows that both the unit and the SD card are installed and contents visible. So far so good. But when I go onto the Garmin site, log-in and start the registration process, all that I get is the rotating time wheel and no amount of waiting gets me any further

I gave Garmin Support a call and they suggested trying an alternate USB cable (done and no different) and then another computer (same result). Now I am flummoxed and so are they. So any ideas please?
