Garmin units bricked by update

Has anyone had this problem

I'm on firmware 2.8 and haven't seen any problem (but not turned it on for the last week)

I'm just updating now..... It hasn't affected any of our Garmin Sat Navs and fingers crossed it now won't

2.80 has been out for a couple of weeks, without any reports of user problems, other than the know bugs it did not fix

It looks like a new update for the 660 should be out within a few days, if not hours.

I've been using mine since the 24th May with 2.8 and it's mostly ok. Only froze once, for the first time on the way to the HUBB meeting in Ripley.
