My maps on my Garmin 660 are out of date and I'm thinking of updating them.

I can for approx. €90 have updates for life, or the life of the unit, or as long as they support it, I don’t know!
What happens if I update my unit at some time in the future?

Now I see this on ebay..
"Garmin 2012 Europe City Navigator 2012.40 sd card Map Update Garmin 2012 Europe City Navigator 2012.40 sd card Map Update" for £26. again!

I know 95% of the roads haven't changed so why update at all?

Any suggestions? :nenau

It's not just maps that get updated, some POI's also get added, along with lodging's etc.

If you update your unit sometime in the future, Garmin might swap the Numaps over...

Hi
I bought the lifetime for my 550 and my computer lets me know when there are updates. i have update three time so far since I paid which is cheaper and one at a time. Go for it.

I have been thinking of this. I've changed to a mac book, does anyone know if this will cause me a problem:confused:

@Oberon logging into "my Garmin" will not cause a problem with your Macbook.
Depending on which GPS you have may be a hassle trying to stuff the newer larger mapping in.
Plenty (ongoing) threads on here to cover that...

Might be useful to someone.
