Hi everyone. My first post ! I've read that many of you have had one zumo problem or another, but I can't seem to find one just like mine. I'm hoping however that at least one of you will recognise the symptoms and be able to suggest a solution.
I've always had problems with the map updates but sooner or later have managed to get them done. Today was no exception after the third attempt.
However, once completed, I transferred Route & Waypoint data from MapSource on my PC to my device. Then I found I had duplicated routes, but that some of them couldn't be imported because they were too big. I eliminated old routes from MapSource, cleaned up the rest by breaking them into shorter sections and then deleted ALL routes and waypoints from the device with the intention of starting again with a "clean slate". I connected up the device, did the data transfer from the PC - supposedly successfully, safely disconnected the device and re-opened it...... only to find that there were no routes nor waypoints anywhere on it. I repeated the exercise with the same result..... even trying to Import New Data (but there was no data to import). I tried a third time with an even worse result. The device now turns itself off as soon as the Home page opens.... and, yes, the battery is fully charged. I'm due to undertake a 2,000 mile trip through France, Belgium & Luxembourg commencing the 27th December...... with all my routes in MapSource and nothing on a device that auto-shuts-off as soon as it's warmed up! Are there any magicians out there?
