Garmisch 2012

Hmmn can anybody advise whereabouts in Garmisch the activities/event (particularly the beer tent) takes place and located? The hotel we have picked seems a bit far out on the maps. Its the Olympiahaus near the Ski Jumps.

Is this going to be a taxi &/or stagger home for miles job?

Was in the company of John the Boxer when at Garmisch this year. He was determined we wouldn't park less than 1 metre from the center of activity and it was amusing to dodge the organiser's storm troopers - who road block most main approach roads and guide you to official bike parks some way from the gig. Eventually we regally rolled into the site and parked next to all the events.
Once you're past the road blocks it's plain sailing to do the same. You just have to find a way past them - or tell the guards you are taking your bike to be checked over at the BM test centre on site. Who isn't going to believe your BM has a fault?
(PS Lots of free buses from the various local villages and or catch the train from Garmisch - two stops away.)

From Google Earth above it looks like its located at the Ski School Hausberg??

its not far into town from the ski jumps,past the station under the underpass and youre there,its not far to walk to the showground either
