Popped to see a mate today and caught him fitting this back onto his bike.Nice job has been done,if you look hard in the picture you just make out where they have welded the webs top and bottom and it has also had 1mm skimmed off it.It will be interesting to see how it goes with work done.Andy

Check valve to piston crown clearance before running engine, probably be ok but its best to check first.

I'd be very interested to know how he gets on with this mod. Will he run it on a dyno when finished ?. This sounds like a nice winter project for me. Might even fit some cams and lighter valve collets etc.

Hi Ferg,
he did have it dyno'd before the job was done and he is going to have it done again once it's all back together.I am going to consider it if there is a noticable gain,but it won't be this year I could not do without my bike for a month.So what this space and I will post the results.Andy

I had a keen interest to learn more about gasflowing and polishing ports a while back and in my search came across this document that was pretty good.
