Gated Roads in Leics. ~

I was riding around the Gartree Road yesterday, and found a few tracks signposted 'Gated Road' and 'Field Road'.

Does anyone have a 'waypoint' file, or locations, of some of these, as I'd like to find some more... Thanks!

Type in Gartree Road

Deselect Footpaths and Bridleways (uncheck left hand box)

Select Byways and Restricted Byways

Shows All the Byways (open to all traffic - BOAT) in Brown and Restricted Byways (now restricted, after 2006 NERC Act) in Green

2 Byways and 2 RB's

Can I ask a really numpty question JB? Restricted Byways; in what way are they restricted? I have always assumed they were Byways but closed to (motorised) traffic or does each Byway have it's own restriction and, if so, what's the easiest way to find out what that restriction is?

According to the North Yorkshire CC rights of way site - "Restricted byways can be used on foot, horseback, pedal cycle and horse-drawn vehicles, but cannot be used by any motorised vehicles." HTH

Deep water was fun in the Landy 110, but I've never really seen the attraction (on a bike), unless absolutely necessary
