No Interest

In the bike? Or in fixing it? Or from the forum?

Did you check that the linkage was free to move as suggested or not?

As for how big a job it is, that rather depends on whats wrong with it and what you want to do to recify it.

Best to work out whats wrong first, however removing the gearbox is fairly straightforward, rebuilding it not so. Checking the linkage is a piece of piss by comparison to either job, so try that first then come back with the result.

If the "no interest" bit means on your part, do you think anyone else here on the forum will give a shit how your bike works with a reply like that ?:nenau

As Bin and St247 say, check the linkage, its a common problem for a build up of dirt within the shift lever bushes to jam up the shift mechanism. Easy to strip, clean and reassemble.

Or maybe ..... a comment on investment returns in the UK :nenau

Let's pull up a chair and see.

Funny, but I was thinking along the lines of "Banker" myself.:augie

(Should be clear enough in anyones rhyming slang)

Poor chap is probably suffering from shock - he must have asked his BMW dealer the price to refit a new box!
