gear change indicator

my 1150gsa gear indicator is playing up .its usually ok from cold,but once warm it sticks in 2nd or 3rd then after a bit it'l show 6th right up until i stop and go to neutral..... gear change feels fine ,just the display is f***d

Probably got water in it, especially if you pressure washed it. The unit is located on the back of the gearbox in front of the swing arm. You get to it from underneath, lay the bike on its right pot on something soft.

I had the same thing with my 1100GS. I just lived with this.

Mine shows nothing most of the time, but I've been in 8th and even 9th once.
