:tears went out for a blast around the lake district yesterday. Was just looking at the bike and thinking about cleaning the flies off it when I spotted the gear change lever looked bent:eek:

Touched it with my finger and the end fell off:(

The 6mm dia bolt had vibrated out that holds the rubber clad end bit on. I was lucky to get it back home without losing it.

Funny that I posted a thread a couple of nights back saying that the GSA had started to vibrate and motorway speeds............I wonder if this is a sign that all is not well:confused:

You've been spoiled by Teutonic engineering, those old f*rts who are used to British engineering of yore, kept a pair of Mole Grips in the tool pouch for the said same duty....:rob

I think Touratech are bringing out a special kevlar net which when attached to rear of the 1200's will collect all the bits and bobs as they fall off:D

Another advantage of this is that the increased aerodynamic drag will slow the bike down, allowing friends on 1100s and 1150s to nearly keep up.

now I think about it my tax disc holder vibrated itself to bits en route back from the French Motogp as well. I sense a trip to the dealers is on the cards next weekend:(

I hope to never need the kevlar net, but if it's new and from TT then it must be good...

My Mum always said that my Dad used to do the same run over the moors near us twice, once for fun and then once again to collect all the bits that dropped off his BSA :blast
