Help required -

My 1150GSA (Feb '04) has developed an anoying problem. After riding the bike for about 4 miles plus I am finding it difficult to change down gear. From 6th to 5th is fine, from 5th to 4th does not always feel that the gear lever has returned to its correct resting point. Changinging from 4th to 3rd and then 2nd seems fine, but then changinging down to 1st through neutral can be a problem.
The bike has done under 28000 miles.
Any ideas/solutions as to what the problem is would be most helpfull

Mant thanks

Gary

I would suggest that you take the gear lever off and clean all the linkage, re-grease (use copperslip as it's next to the exhaust pipe) and reassemble.

Seemed to fix the problem on mine.

Gear change.

Look back through recent posts on this site (or the technical site next to this one) this problem has been covered in depth and the answer is there.

Gear change update

Followed Walti's suggestion and stripped down the gear linkage on left foot peg, cleaned it and re-greased with copperslip. Appears to working fine now. going on a longish run Sunday will see how it fairs then. Thanks for the help and assistance.
