Hi fellow riders.
I bought my 2005 R1200GS 2 months back and know more about this bike than many others.
I am one of the unfortunate, since my gearbox broke down after 800Km during my 2nd week of inburning period.
I bought this bike from Germany since we don't have a BMW motorcycle dealer locally, and we do not have a BMW authorised repair workshop. It was either sending the bike to it's origin or finding the right workshop to do the job. Well I found the only place I trust, my garage, and took it totally apart to retain the faulty gearbox and got the new one sent to me from BMW after I had sent it out to the german dealer. The bike is together again and I have started riding but found that the potentiometer on the gearbox didn't work since the display showed blank in first, first in second and so on. Asked for a new potentiometer from BMW got it inserted it and blank in all gears.
Does anyone know what to do? Must be a reset somewhere.
