gear oil

I like to change drive and gear oil regular.Last time was 7000 miles ago.Now in Panama and have finally found some GL 5.The label says for mechanical shift,outboards and stern drives.SAE 90 hypoid gear oil and has in small print GL 5.I take it this translates to manual and rear drive oil.Is the outboard bit on there as it is for sale in a port town that has many water taxis etc. ? Will it be the stuff i need ? (GS 1100)

The API GL5 specification SAE 90 is the important part. I use an SAE 75W90 API GL5 and as long as it meets this spec I reckon you will be fine.
