Hi All

I have replaced the clutch on my 2005 GS 1200, very tricky to put the rear frame back - not much space and balancing bike on some blocks of wood - but wierdly enjoyable.

Anyway all seems OK apart from the gear/neutral indicator - just a blank square box on dash. I replaced the sensor during rebuild, it was flacky before I started regularly couldn't find neutral and gears changed at random.

Three questions:
Do I have to have it recalibrated/fault cleared
Is it possible to replace without dropping swing arm, separating bike again or maybe just drop exhaust to get some access to sensor bolts
The wiring diagram I have found on the internet link the sensor to ? the zfe connector the connector to the thing underneath the zfe connector. The colour of the sensor wires : BlUE/YELLOW VIOLET/BLACK BLACK/YELLOW

Help with any of these appreciated.

It can be removed without removing the swingarm. IIRC it can also be removed without removing the exhaust silencer.

But I do have small hands :P

GS911 plug in tool might help my 05 messes about too  there was another thread someone reset theirs with one you can remove them easy ish lol you'll need the Torx or a 1/4 ring spanner to fit the Torx bolts Iv changed mine to 8mm now.

Prob has to be reset. I had one go, replaced it myself, a bit fidly but no need to remove anything for access. Once I had mine reset the new one worked instantly.

Plug the GS911 in and reset adaptations, then run it through the gears on the center stand or preferably on the road to relearn the gears.
