How are gear ratio's interpreted ?

For example a gear ratio of 4.452 and one of 4.313, for the same engine revs which one will drive the wheel further ?

Ta in advance

Usually a lower number is a higher gear, rather counter-intuitively. That is to say, using your figures, there will be either 4.452 or 4,313 engine revolutions per drive shaft revolution.
