Hi,quick question, does anyone know if a gear sensor potentiometer from a 2010 GS fit a 2005,looks like water wouldnt get in as easy with the sealed wire?

Seems unlikely - although the same part is used on the 2008 and 2010 GS, and also on some other earlier Boxers, a different part is listed for the 2004 GS.

If the sensor fails completly and you loose the neutral light and gear counter will it cause any other problems other than havin to pull the clutch and side stand up to start, from years of riding old bikes I never look at the gear counter and could live without the green light?

Not sure - I *think* it's as you say - no neutral light (and no digi gear indicator) and having to pull the clutch in to start.

thanks 4 replies Roymondo,ya I reckon I can live with it till I pick up a good used replacement at an ok price, cant justify the dealer price for a new one,if anyone got 1 for sale let me know
