Gear Shift Assist

canbus is like ethernet Lan, where each controller talks ovrer the network to ecu and other components. Retrofitting PDC to my A6 was exactly plugging controller using custom made loom to CAN.

With the right software, I'm sure it can be hacked.:thumb

But there may be warranty implications, down the line.:rob

Ever since first experiencing one on my HP2 Sport then my S1000RR, I've been a massive fan of quicksifters.

I even fitted one to my Ducati Diavel, which works brilliantly. However, I never felt the need to fit one to any of my GS's or GSA's

But i must say, that the new Up&down QS on my new RT is really very good indeed, and suits the bike and my riding style.
Now having ridden 1000+ miles in 5 days, I think its the best QS i've ever used, especially with the ability to shift down as well.

And here's the bonus....SWIMBO thinks its great too, as up shifts on the gas are smooth and seamless.

So i actually think having the up/down QS on the new LC GS/GSA's would suit the rider who likes to ride quick (make rapid progress:thumb).

I popped into my dealer yesterday he was saying that the quickshifter on the 2015 bikes will be factory fitted option same as rt. With some colour changes! !

At my age, I'm not sure I could retrain my left hand not to de-clutch while changing gear

It does take a bit of brain recalibration, but after 1000 miles, its become instinctive...
The trouble is, that now i have to remember the de-clutch on down shift when i ride my Duc...:blast

vin numbers : there are europe vin, usa vin , rest of the world (no idea what vin).

so, check with your dealer. they key in your vin and the etk will check whether your vin cross references to the part.

besides , if it does not fit , the dealer eats it.

so , no worries

If you have the plug than your good to go, hope that helps.

well mines in for the quick shifter fitting on the 9th may and my frame number starts Z13

My number starts Z13 and I only bought it last week? Is there anywhere the complete number can be typed in to check when the bikes were made, apart from at a dealers?
