I may be being premature in posting about a problem I have with changing gear in my new Thor Quadrant motocross boots. It may be that I just have to get used to turning my foot in at an improbable angle and giving the gear shift a good "thwack" but, frankly, if today's performance was anything to go by, I wont survive that long.

When riding off road - or, at least, riding in motocross boots - is there some sort of extension kit one can buy for the gear shift that will accommodate a bulky off-road/enduro boot? I have found numerous threads referring to "folding gear shifts" but no-one else seems to have a problem actually reaching the lever with bulky boots. I feel I need a longer lever with a bit of extra grip ...?

The solution for me is to remove the rubber footpeg inserts on my R1200GS and move the gear lever up one spline.

As ever, YMMV.....:)

dont have the same props with bulky mx boots, but did have a proplem with sidi couriers, so bought a tt adjustable gear lever, now have no probs, plenty of feel and feedback, and never missed a gear (yet), got the lever fitted with fastway pegs which are much better that the original ones, mush more secure and if you fit them in the low position, gives plenty of room to manouver,
hope this helps

I have a similar problem with my size 12's. I'm, going to ge the TT jobbie but have also fitted Pivot Pegz, which make a noticable difference when riding with MX boots.
