Obviously not the BMW engineers.

Nor the fact that ptfe bearings don't require to be greased or so I was taught 30+ years ago.

Perhaps that's progress for you.

Funny that. I have a recollection of a bike with PTFE fork bushes being infamous for them seizing up as they swelled and clamped the stanchion. They were replaced with bronze which didn't. I still have the bike.

I find it strange that the bikes left the factory with any grease on the gear lever shaft they definitely don't bother on the paralever needle pivot bearings
