Have just got back from a five day break around Scotland doing about 1,000 miles. :thumb

Have noticed two or three times that, on selecting a high gear that the change seems fine and then, a few seconds later, the bike feels like it sits a bit and it clunks as though maybe it hadn't gone into gear properly before.

Anyone else get this at all or can anyone suggest what might be the issue please?

We were motoring at the time and I wonder if I was changing to quickly. :nenau

Is the gear leaver all oiled  if you know what i mean, might need to be adjusted.

All I can say, is mines doesnt do that :D

Serioulsy, unless its your riding style (which I doubt), then it sounds like somethings not quite right. Does it do this solo?

Yea solo at the time.

We were moving along quite rapidly each time and it was just a little bit concerning at the time.

Apart from that, the bike ran brilliantly.

Being the sufferer of a number of 1200GS gearbox issues, I suggest you get it into your dealer ASAP and have them check it out.

It could be nothing, but at least you have some paperwork registering the problem in case it goes nasty later.

If it starts getting sticky changing down, then you've got an issue most likely with the clutch - the pressure plates are known to go soft.

Dont take any hassle from the dealer - get them to sort it.

gearbox

mine has done 27000 miles now and would drop down a gear if not pushed home properly, last service i reported sticky gearchange lever , came back spot on and this seems to have cured it
