Gel Batteries...

Thanks for the replies....

will go down to the local BMW stealer and buy one....at least that way will get the right one....:D

Previous experience compels me to recommend an Odyssey- maybe a PC680 -for your bike. I think I got my last one from Motorworks. They are dry batteries (not gel) and have awesome power and endurance. There is no better battery.

Second that.

When the cheapo varta in my bike finally gives up.. I'll go for the OEM Gel.. been enough reports on this site of life spans well in excess of 8yrs with never a problem.

Not from my experience :augie And the "awesome power you mention is 16 amp.........

For an 1100/1150 It's hard to beat the genuine BMW battery -

If anyone wants an Odyssey PC680, as new in the box complete with the metal case that you need for it to fit some bikes and sticker, i have one here you can have for £60.

The BMW gel battery in my GS is over three years old and that in my RS is four years old. Both still seem fine. The original lead-acid battery in my GS lasted over six years. Then again, an Odyssey for £60 would tempt me if I needed a new battery.......
