Hi All, I know this topic has been discussed hundreds of times but...... i am happy to try a "Chinese" seat cover to try and see if it helps with my comfort ahead of my norway trip in May. Does anyone have a link to this product or perhaps should I try an airhawk?
cheers

I have an airhawk well actually it’s my wife’s. I just could not get on with it. It moves a little which I suppose it is meant to but I just didn’t like not being more fixed to the bike. Ok on the long boring motorway type roads but not on the more interesting roads. I have since bought a cool cover for my Triumph Tiger Rally Pro and it seems to make a marked improvement. I was struggling with numb bum after around 300-350 miles before. Since fitting it I am much more comfortable and ok on the 500-550 miles days. I haven’t ridden any proper long days yet.
It lifts one slightly off the seat on a mesh type fabric which allows cool air between the rider and the seat. This does seem to help. The heated seat is not quite as effective but I can always remove the cool cover on cold days if needed.

I have the cheap mesh covers for about three years.

One of the best Farkles a GS can have - especially valuable when we went to Norway `22 and "enjoyed " a week of biblical rain, followed by high 30`s on our return to Blighty. In both cases the air gap helped keep us dry!

I tries an Air Hawk years go on my 1200GSA and didn't like it one bit. You lose all connection to the bike & just can't feel what's going on. As said above that may be OK if you're pottering about or just going in a straight line, but it was not for me.

Now I have a Wind Rider perforated jobbie and have only tried that once. It did feel a bit more connected and also rises you up 10mm or so, just FYI as you may want to drop your seat a position if you're in the upper one now like I am. For heat or rain I can see the benefit of the wind rider over an air hawk.

I'm off up & around Scotland end of May and perhaps will try the wind rider then as I'll have some long days. I can always strap it to the bike if I don't get on with it..
