Well I went to Gent at the weekend on my 1150GS starting from London at 5pm
Nothing remarkable about that I know you'll say.
I crossed for the first time using the chunnel and glad I packed a small picnic. The best part for me was I stayed with a a host from http://www.couchsurfing.com who even met me at a services on her honda douville half way beetween Calais and Gent! She supplied me with a camp bed in the living room and I took my sleeping bag, had a brill weekend together visiting Bugges etc on the bikes. So much fun to do this with a local rather than just being a tourist on my own.
