For a couple of hours taking in some of the Wayfarer's Walk and Coombe Gibbet.

Leaving Chieveley Services at 12.

Nothing too strenuous, hopefully, as I haven't taken the GSA "off-road" for seven months

No idea what state the Byways are in at the moment, but I expect TKCs will be a good idea :)

Will these be the byways we took on the way to the TVT gathering in June?

Will have to check the weekend schedule - and might come on the DR... :D

I was thinking of heading South down the A34 for a few miles and explore the "Ox Drove" just North of Burghclere, which I haven't done.

Then just South of Burghclere we have...

Then a few more miles of A34 to pick up

Start of a 3 miles section of the Wayfarers walk leading to the A34.

Wide variety of surfaces, deep ruts and technical in places.

Missing out the "ruts of doom" then

Now in the top left corner of the West sheet of OS Explorer map 144.

Wayfarers Walk. The start of a series of tracks totalling 4.5 miles in length.

Rutted, flints, fairly technical.

but doing the above in reverse order IYSWIM :)

Then carry on further West a few miles and pick up another section of the Wayfarer's by Combe Gibbet that I haven't done before (Ash did a thread recently that I can't find now) - Starts at SU 380 615

Ox drove is nice and flat, and wet at the moment. The eastern end is a bit more interesting but quite short. May as well also do the BOAT from Ridgemore farm to Old Burghclaire while muddy.

Sorry, should have said that I am up for it and will be at the services at 12.
On a GS1150A.
