I recently bought an R 1150 GS Adventure. But I think I have a slite problem, the last two times I used her I noticed that the triangular indication on the instrument area started blinking whilst riding and after a while the ABS light above it started blinking too.
Does anyone have a cloo about this situation? I must add that after leaving her to cool down a bit everything came back to normal. Could it be the high temperature that we have this time of the year?
Any help is welcomed,
Thank you for your time and knowlege.

How old ...

... and in what condition is the battery ? I ask because many 'problems' seem to stem from this area, allied to poor start-up technique will often produce similar symptoms.

1. Check or replace battery

2. Use correct starting procedure (i.e. Turn on ignition, wait a few seconds until only light still flashing is the upper ABS one, then press starter.)

3. Let us know how you get on :thumb2

From memory it could be your tail light lamp (bulb), if the stop element blows it sends extra power to the tail light element when you put the brakes on. It then warns you to replace the bulb.

It may not be this but I remember something similar happening on my ADV years ago, worth a try for the price of a bulb :thumb2

Guys you are great thank you for your quick answers, you really helped me a lot, I ran a quick check on all the things you sujested and I left the light bulb for last, it seems that it doesn't sit properly in it's place and when the road is bumpy then it moves out of place and causes the "problem".
Anyway, now I know thanks to you. Thank you once again.
John from Greece !!!
