Heading off to Europe next Tuesday via Newcastle. Could really do with replacing the Z6's on the RT before doing so. Other commitments mean I will only have a couple of days before I go.

Option 1: nip up to Strathearn Tyres in Crieff. Guaranteed a good deal and fitting, removing and re-fitting wheels included.

Option 2: anyone similar in Geordie land or on the way to the ferry?

I used North East Tyres & Autocare for some Tourances last year, 0191 262 6363. The price was good, the tyres were in stock and they are approximately 3 miles from the ferry terminal.

hunters do tyres for a good price, and little john two doors down will fit em for you ,they are on westgate road newcastle mate.

Ian Bell Motorcycles at bedlington about 15 miles north of the ferry terminal are recommended . Worth a bell, they will either do the job start to finish or let you park the bike in the old MOT bay and take off the wheels for them to change the tyres

Hunters sell snide tyres , ill never use them again ........

M&S just down from them have a fast fit ( if they have them in stock ) service , 15 mins ride in ride out and £120 for a rear Tourance on a 1150 GSA .. Give them a ring ....

To be truthfull .... Sort it out before you go .........

Yes what do you mean by snide tyres ?

I've bought tyres from Hunters for over 20 years and never had a problem with any of them .

I've bought tyres from Hunters for over 20 years and never had a problem with any of them .

Iv'e done a thread on it some where , a few years back i had an accident and had my wheels shocks and the large U bracket replaced , forks had new seals and checked then new tyres where fitted , Carol Nash where going to write the bike off because of its handling or lack of it ...

A member on here asked where i had bought my tyres from so i told them and i was advised to check or replace which i did . I spoke to Hunters and they wern't interested telling me it was the bike and not the tyres . I went to an independant garage and had both checked and re-balanced with no problem and they took it for a ride and noticed the bike steered hard to the right and had a high speed weave . I rode into the fast fit place and luckily a rep of sorts checked my front tyre , he rang some one and i herd him say probablys not destined for this country , i was offered a front for £50 if they could keep the other . The handling improved but not perfect and it wasn't untill the rear was removed that everything went back to normal , i approached Hunters and they told me you can get bad batches of Tourance's but still wern't interested so i buy my tyres and pads else where .....

:nenau oh right,a neighbour of mine shot out off the street with brand new tyres on his xjr1300 ,only to have it high side on him thirty yards up the road ,my first reaction was what a dick ,new tyres and not giving it any respect, how wrong i was ,the tyres had been fitted to loose wheels ,he just put them back on the bike and off he went ,it turned out the rear had 15 psi in it ,he too went back to the said bike shop ,they just dismissed him saying he should have checked them before he rode off.

Hunters have always looked after my wheels :thumb2
never done a bad job yet for me, yesterday they fitted my TKC's changing from my tourances. Fully balanced and pumped up - he even told me what pressure he had put in for me... i'll be back for sure.:thumb

Been buying my tyre from hunters for years as a matter of fact I grow up with Keith and Alan very good friends and to say that the tyres are snide based on a what evidence the word of another trader or did you send them of to the manufacturer the only people qualified to say weather a tyre is snide (counterfeit) As for the guy who's tyre pressure was to low all tyre fitter tell you to check your pressures

f@ckin bollox.

maybe just maybe you had a dodgy tyre from a bad batch
Ive bought hundreds of tyres from them over years never had an issue

i bought a pirelli dragon for my gsxr years ago from kens because hunter had none my size it delaminated not the dealers fault there must be things that pass through the manufacturers qa system

im sure if it was genuinely snide the manufacturer would have took the tyre away and prosecuted hunter

He uses exactly the same wholesaler as Motorway tyres

sounds like sour grapes on behalf of the other tyre dealer to me

spot on ragerover a complete pile of b##l sh1t

spoke to alan today they have 3 faulty tyres on way back to manufacture as we speak

if you want tyres hunters are as good as anybody
