Gerbing's Gloves - WOW!

Ive always suffered from cold hands. Even summer nights have caught me out, so bad is my circulation.

I recently bought some Gerbing's T5 heated gloves and got around to plumbing them in this morning. What a revelation. Ive tried heated grips before and though better than nothing, Ive still ended up bailing out of the ride early to get some warmth back into me digits, sometimes struggling even to get my lid off cos I cant feel my fingers. These heated gloves are just sensational. I just didnt want the ride to end today. I admit theyre a bit of a faff, having to plug 'em into the sleeve wire, and into the bike etc, and theyre a bit of a bulky glove too but so worth the hassle.

If you suffer from cold hands & aint tried these, I thoroughly recommend them. Not cheap, but I reckon theyre the dogs B's.

You're right there, warm hands, thin gloves, fraction of the cost, no hassle with wiring

Get the jacket

I bought a jacket about 4 years ago and wouldn`t be without it on a long ride.
Some of my mates take the mick a bit but are unable to answer a simple question.
In your car when its cold do you leave the heater off?

The gloves plug into the jacket sleeves and the whole thing works fantasticly.

Without doubt, you ride far safer when wearing heated clothing.

Funny you should say that. I got the jacket today.

Another for the jacket. Had mine a couple of years and got a Gerbring as I wanted arms and collar that were heated too. Have to go with Timolgra Re: gloves. Wear my Aerostich Roper gloves, muffs and can only have the heated grips on one dot. Keep warm - keep safe.

I got the jacket liner and trousers last year for £80 each when on offer. I only tried them out yesterday for the 1st time. Amazing. The gloves are definately next

Why heated jacket when there is very good insulation clothing available?

A good set of underlayers and a decent jacket keeps me toasty even on 300 mile rides in the winter below freezing. I don't like the idea of being wired up.

With regard to the car question. The answer is no, because I don't dress to stay warm. Just like being in the house really. I don't wear outdoor clothing round the house either, because I have the heating on for 2 hours in the morning and again for 2 hours in the evening. That is my heating allowance - the rest of the time I rely on the woodburner, but they make a mess of the paintwork on the bike and drivers following complain about the trail of ash.

Why a jacket?

Because, you get used to the feeling of 20-25 degs when its 5degs and below - I'm normally colder in cars, because the air con needs to be on cool to clear the windscreen.

Also, after stopping for fuel etc, you're cold again. Plugging in a single wire to the bike ain't that big an issue. Its always great to walk of a service station feeling cold, knowing you're gonna be nice and warm within 5mins of being on the bike.

mmmm... heated arms, neck, feet, chest. I'll stick with that.

I've got the Gerbing gloves and they're excellent, the only thing I'd say is you do need the adjustable controller because for me they actually slightly burned the back of my hand.

+1 for heated clothing, once tried you won't go back to bulking up with layers!

I use the Keis vest as I think the Gerbing liner would be a bit too hot for me with its sleeve and collar heat. Even using the battery pack I only need it at 40% power which is good for 5-6 hours use

Sat on a bike your body won't generate heat so once you're cold you stay cold, heated clothing is generating heat keeping your body temp up, good for maintaining concentration and dexterity.
