Next day following a great night out in Berchtesgaden we rode some fantastic roads along the alps calling in at Fussen which is where the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle is..!
I know a bit abstract but it was worth a look, we didn't stay long as there were about 3 million tourist all doing horse and cart rides around the place.
On to Friedrichshafen on the Bodensee and a night in a very nice lakeside hotel.
Next morning north, rode the 500 up to Baden Baden which has to be one of my favorite bits of road anywhere in the world. its a big Biker rout, I could spend days just doing it one end to the other. Which is what a lot of the locals obviously do.
Then up to Trier and another great run up the Mosel to Cochem for the night.
by the way the duck was a gift from the incredibly attractive hotel receptionist and was quite apt cos it pissed it down 80% of the trip.

Last day was a simple ride to the ferry with a couple of Hours at the Nurburg ring.
No I didn’t do a lap with the touratech panniers and 21 inch front wheel in.
so average mileage per day was 350 to 400 miles. Filled up every 200 miles or so but could have run longer most times. Bike sat at 90 to 95 mph all day on the auto bahn, i imagine over 250 miles is well within reach at sensible speeds.
Temp went up to 6 bars on occasion but never higher and i havent drilled the front mudguard.
I’ve now put the bike back to supermoto set up and will see how the fuel goes when I'm hooning around the lanes back in the UK.
I’m tempted to fill it up and set off with a jerry can to see how long i can make a tank last. I will let you know.
