My post #101 in this thread describes the feeling I got from my GSA prior to the bike being taken in by Bahnstormer and the rear wheel being replaced and some spokes in the front wheel being re-tensionedA catastrophic wheel failure with no warning, that rips the caliper off. I would suspect that the stability would deteriorate noticeably well before a wheel would collapse?
The point is that I only knew my new GSA felt wrong because I'd had a 2016 model GSA previously. Frankly if I was new to a GSA I must just have put it down to the character of the bike and ridden on blithely until one or other wheel collapsed. Having had a new rear wheel and re-tensioning of the front wheel spokes, the bike now feels a lot more planted and hopefully if I start to feel the bike behaving as before, I will know what is happening
