I may need to travel from the icy wastes of the midlands to gold paved Londinium on 19 May when there is a tube strike on.
My destination is about 2 min walk from Moorgate tube station which is 4 stops and ~15mins from Euston. I need to arrive (near Moorgate) at 09.30 and leave ~17.30. I like a walk about London but it's about an hour each way to walk and with trains etc, there just isn't time unless I leave home at silly o'clock. I suspect buses (which I usually prefer anyway) will be overrun.
In short, how much extra time (approx) would you learned locals allow on strike days or would you just avoid like the plague?

Your suggestion of avoid or reschedule is useful - many thanks
